Course Overview

This qualification will focus on developing essential skills, personal qualities and values that enable you to thrive in any workplace. Our programme has been developed to provide learners with a range of knowledge, understanding, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in work. This course has been designed to support you to successfully gain employment within a chosen sector or prepare you for further study.

Course Requirements

Progression from Entry 3 programme
4 GCSE’s at Grade 2 or above including English and Maths

*All successful applicants will be required to have an interview with a Progression Curriculum teacher.

What you will Learn

The qualification provides a pathway into many sectors giving learners the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in wider employment and career progression opportunities. You will develop self- confidence and interpersonal skills, advance your communication skills and promote personal effectiveness. You will study GCSE maths and English alongside your vocational qualification as well as being expected to undertake work experience as part of the study programme.

Assessment

Learners are assessed in a variety of ways. We establish a learner’s starting point within their induction in our courses and create a tailored learning package in line with the Initial Assessment results. Assessment throughout the course is regular and appropriate; observations, completed written coursework, practical activities and presentations are utilised to assess the progression of our learners.

Progression

Successful completion of this course will equip learners with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to succeed in employment or further study.Many of our learner progress on to level 2 or higher-level qualifications, including Apprenticeships. Furthermore, learners may progress into employment upon completion of the course.

Mandatory Units

The units delivered are designed to prepare learners for the world of work, by gaining a host of transferrable skills through the following topics: Developing Own Interpersonal skills, Presentation Skills, Undertaking an Enterprise Project, Advertising Techniques and Teamwork Skills.
