Employer Engagement

Employer Engagement

The Cheadle College has an Employer Engagement Team dedicated to developing collaborative links with external employers and organisations to ensure that students have various opportunities to understand and experience the world of work and put their theoretical learning into practice.

We have over 1,200 external collaborative employers and organisations who work with us throughout the year to enhance student learning experiences with practical application.

All students, both A level and vocational, are given the opportunity for a minimum of a one week work placement arranged specifically to meet their needs. Employers deliver masterclasses relating to specific elements of the sector and the criteria of the study programmes and offer taster days and visits.

Mentoring Programme

The Cheadle College offers a work-based mentoring programme designed to support employees in becoming a mentor and equip them with the skills to help new employees settle into the workplace. Support is offered in a range of areas including confidence building, team working, mentoring and coaching skills, and leadership skills to name a few.

Businesses who have adopted the mentoring programme have seen increases in staff motivation and retention, business profitability, efficiency and flexibility within their organisation.

For more information about the mentoring project please contact the team on 0161 886 7461 or email apprenticeships@tcg.ac.uk.

Social Value & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

We are always looking for ways in which to expand our employer network including inviting employers to deliver Guest Speaker presentations, run virtual or in-person site tours, offer short-term work experience (up to 36 hours) or work with a learner on a volunteer basis. All of these activities contribute to Social Value and Corporate Social Responsibility.
