The Trafford College Group Employer Awards 2022

by kelsey

The Trafford College Group had the pleasure of hosting the annual Employer Awards 2022, as the first in-person award ceremony since 2019. The night hosted a number of shareholders, organisations and apprentices that have achieved brilliant success in their field over the past year.

The ceremony took place in the Stadium Suite at Hotel Football, where guests were met with welcome drinks. As this is the first in-person awards since the pandemic, it was the perfect opportunity for old acquaintances to reconnect. The night followed with a delicious three course meal, prepared beautifully by the hotel.

The award ceremony aimed to recognise and celebrate the invaluable experience that TCG’s employer connections offer to apprentices, as well as recognising the success of the TCG apprentices within their schemes. The night kickstarted with a welcome speech from Trafford College Group Principal, James Scott (See Below).

Speech from Trafford College Group Principal, James Scott

“Our TCG Employer Awards evening was an amazing opportunity to celebrate the commitment of the businesses and organisations who work with us in partnership and the success of the apprenticeships and work placement students we jointly support, develop and train. Arguably it is now more important than ever to invest in skills given the local, regional and national labour market shortages, and the changing expectations around ways of working. Apprenticeships, and technical education pathways such as the new T Levels we are delivering here at TCG, continue to present great solutions to the skill needs of employers. It was the first time we had been able to hold this special event face to face since 2019 and I’d like to thank everyone involved for making it such a great evening for the employers, apprentices and students in attendance.” – James Scott, Principal at Trafford College Group.

Trafford College Group’s Assistant Principal in Adult & Employer Engagement, Tracey Woods gave us an insight into the importance of TCG’s employer relationships and why they’re beneficial to learners:

We were delighted to celebrate with our employers, partners and learners at our Employer Awards. TCG has strong relationships with industry and businesses, providing our learners and apprentices with an enriched experience and skills to progress in work and life.

Our awards recognise the collaboration with our staff, learners, and various employers within different sectors over the last year. Employers have been instrumental in developing the skills and knowledge of our learners and apprentices. It was fantastic to meet and thank our employers for their continued support in helping us to deliver highly career-focused training. Collaboration is vital with employers to develop the skills needed for now and the future.

Building on our strengths as a group, we are delighted to announce we are establishing an employer partnerships team to provide a single access point for businesses to access the range of employer services by Trafford College Group.” – Tracey Woods, Assistant Principal at Trafford College Group.
