Sporting Excellence

Sport is a key part of everyday life at The Cheadle College and we can offer all outstanding athletes access to our Academy of Sports Excellence. The Academy provides access to high quality coaching, state-of-the-art facilities, national competitions and mentoring which will help students develop their skills and attitude. We also help students gain overseas scholarships, get access to top universities and support them as they progress in their chosen discipline from local through to international level.

The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development is a two-year course equivalent to 3 A Levels. Structured so that students get to train with UEFA licensed coaches, students will play National and Regional fixtures on Wednesday afternoons at the Manchester Regional Sports Complex.

The course will provide you with a range of opportunities to sample a wide range of specialist areas within sport and develop a range of academic and practical skills that will help you to progress into a career in the sports, health and fitness industry.

Entry Requirements

You do not have to be studying sport at The Cheadle College to participate in the Academy of Sports Excellence.

There are a number of coaching awards and community opportunities available via the Academy, and we work closely with college colleagues who deliver our formal sports studies curriculum.
