Following the ongoing charitable partnership between our Public Services department and the North West Air Ambulance Service, a group of intrepid adrenaline seekers at The Cheadle College chose to take to the skies for their next fundraising activity.

After partnering with the North West Air Ambulance Service last year following an 8-hour fitness challenge, the cohort of Public Services students decided they wanted to continue to support the invaluable services the charitable organisation provides, this time by literally throwing themselves out of a plane 15,000ft in the air, supervised by a British Skydiving qualified instructor through a tandem skydive.

Public Services Teachers Anthony Osborne and Gillian Ellis took the lead in organising the activity alongside students. Anthony said: “What may be a bucket-list activity for some, and worst nightmare for others, you have to hand it to our students for going above and beyond in their ability to give back to the community.

We have raised around £7,000 already, and whilst fundraising activities continue into this academic year, we wanted to take this opportunity to thank the outstanding 48-strong team at the North West Air Ambulance Service who are committed to providing an exceptional level of pre-hospital care to patients”.
