A career in Protective Services is extremely wide ranging, from the Uniformed Services, to Government departments, local Government and organisations such as MI5 and MI6.
The course will give you an insight into the realities of working in a uniformed protective service, the mixture of theoretical and practical subjects are delivered by experienced lecturers from protective service backgrounds, unit content is based on real-life workplace situations, activities and demands and will develop the essential skills and knowledge you will need to work in this sector.
The course is delivered by experienced Lecturers with Protective Services backgrounds. The units are taught via a multitude of engaging and exciting methods including, role plays, guest speakers, trips and expeditions alongside traditional lectures and interactive online learning.

Uniformed Services
We have outstanding results for this programme with most students progressing to University or directly into employment or training such as a Military Training Programme.
All students will participate in a number of scenario-based exercises aimed to develop skills for working in pressurised environments. Students will also have opportunities to visit and participate in taster experiences for a number of protective service roles.
You will develop a wide range of employability skills and be able to apply your learning across a wide range of professional disciplines. Practical experience is integral to the programme and where available, students attend residential placements as well as working with the Protective Services. Involvement in planning and running fundraising events as well as voluntary work is one of the programme essentials.
Completion of the Extended Diploma will lead to entry to a range of Higher Education programmes, apprenticeships or employment. Many of our students go into: Military Services, Emergency Services, Social Work and Teaching, SecurityBorder Force, Civil Service, Youth and Community Work
Careers following the Uniformed Protective Services BTEC includes: Military Services, Emergency Services, Social Work and Teaching, Security, Border Force, Civil Service, Youth and Community Work.
You will also be assessed through practical based activities and community engagement.
