Our Business Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma is is designed to provide a highly specialist, work-related qualification across a range of business sectors.

With a business qualification, you can go into almost any kind of career. During your time studying this subject, you will learn the fundamentals of good business practice, preparing you to run your own company or successfully enter an established corporation. Many Business College and University graduates in the UK go on to careers in sectors like finance, HR, marketing and sales, while more experienced business practitioners often progress into consultancy.

General entry requirements for our Level 3 Vocational Qualifications include 4 GCSEs grade 4 or above. For our Business course we ask that applicants have:
A willingness to collect, organise and interpret information to produce a portfolio of work.
The ability to work independently and to meet deadlines.

Students who take this course find it very useful because it gives them an understanding of business and because they enjoy coursework assessment as well as the examined based assessments. (2 Units have exams).

You will learn through a wide range of learning activities including class discussions, group presentations, business role-play, business visits, work experience, individual research and one-to-one tutorials.

Mandatory Units for this course include: Finance, Sales techniques, Managing personal finance, How businesses operate, Customer relations, Business online
There are many units students will have the opportunity to explore during this course, including: Exploring Business, Developing a Marketing Campaign, Personal and Business Finance, Managing an Event, International Business, Principles of Management, Business Decision Making, Market Research, The English Legal System, Employment Law, Aspects of Civil Liability Affecting Business, Aspects of Criminal Law Impacting on Business an Individuals

With further training or study, learners may progress into Business related careers such as accounting, administration, customer service, marketing, HR, IT personnel or sales.

The skills you gain on a business management degree allow you to contribute to your employer’s organisation quickly and effectively. Career opportunities following this course may include: Business adviser, Business development manager, Data analyst, Management consultant, Project manager, Risk manager, Human resources officer, Marketing executive, Retail manager, Sales executive or Urban designer

You will be assessed by a mixture of coursework (58%) which covers 13 units over the two years, an exam and controlled assessment (42%). The controlled assessment involves completing an assignment in exam conditions with support material. There will also be a finance exam during the January term.
